TOPIK Officially Accepted for University Admissions in Vietnam!

Starting in 2026, Korean Language Proficiency Test (TOPIK) scores
will be officially used in university admissions in Vietnam.

✔️ Students who obtain TOPIK Level 3 or higher
→ may replace one foreign language subject in the Vietnamese High School Graduation Examination
→ and have their TOPIK score converted and recognized as an official exam score

This decision reflects
the growing status of the Korean language in Vietnam
and the high credibility of TOPIK.

📌 Vietnam has

adopted Korean as a second foreign language in 2020,

as a first foreign language and graduation examination subject in 2021,

and now, in 2026, officially begun using TOPIK for university admissions.

🌏 Vietnam becomes the second country, following Hong Kong in 2025,
to recognize TOPIK for overseas university admissions.

The National Institute for International Education (NIIED)
will continue to make every effort to expand and support Korean language education worldwide.
